Oxiracetam

Oxiracetam is a nootropic drug from the Racetame class and is also used for cognitive performance enhancement. Studies show positive effects on the attention span and memory. It also makes you feel more energetic. Since several modes of action are similar to those of ampakines, it is often attributed to this group of nootropics. They improve learning and memory in humans. If this similarity is disregarded, oxiracetam is very similar to other racetams in its mode of action, but five times stronger than, for example, Piracetam – the most well-known supplement from the group of racetams. Moreover, Oxiracetam has some additional effects such as a slightly stimulating effect that leads to increased attention and concentration. As Oxiracetam is water-soluble, it is very easy to take, but the recommended dose must be adhered to in order to avoid side effects as much as possible.

Effects of Oxiracetam

Oxiracetam works similarly to the other racetams – it enhances the effect of acetylcholine at certain receptors and also influences the cholinergic system in the brain. This includes stimulation of the AMPA and NDMA receptors. The drug’s action at the AMPA receptors helped it achieve its additional status as an ampakine. Oxiracetam has also been shown to have an effect on other similar receptors.

Due to the mechanisms of action of the substance, however, it is of great importance that choline is administered additionally to support and even increase the effect. Moreover, this avoids possible side effects such as headaches from the outset.

In contrast to other racetams, Oxiracetam is a pure performance-enhancer – it has no effect on mood and does not help with anxiety or depression. No effect on dopamine and serotonin or the corresponding receptors could be proven. Oxiracetam primarily increases the production of glutamate and acetylcholine, two of the most important neurotransmitters found in the human brain and responsible for the transmission of information between nerve cells. This property of oxiracetam has effects such as an expansion of our short-term memory and thereby improves our ability to learn.

The drug is not prescribed as often as other racetams or even nootropics in general to cure brain diseases. There is a lot of research being done in this area to see if the drug might be beneficial in treating Alzheimer’s, dementia or other diseases. In some cases, it is used to prevent or at least slow down cognitive degeneration in old age. In this area, it may be helpful both through its protective function on nerve cells, which will be discussed later in the article and through its performance-enhancing effects.

Oxiracetam is a very strong nootropic drug, which has also been shown to have stimulating effects on users. Most of the effects and effects of this drug have something to do with cognitive performance, making oxiracetam a pure nootropic.

Remember and Learn with Oxiracetam

Certainly, the most drastic effect of oxiracetam is its effect on memory and recall, especially on long-term memory and the recall of information from it. It is also very effective in improving overall cognitive performance, which includes the ability to think more clearly, quickly and fluently. Attention and concentration can also be greatly improved by Oxiracetam. All of these performance improvements naturally lead to higher motivation and willingness to perform, which is particularly high with oxiracetam thanks to its powerful action.

Oxiracetam can also enable extremely significant progress in learning due to its various effects on memory and the storage of information. Many studies attest users of the drug far-reaching benefits in learning skills and remembering facts. There is also data showing that Oxiracetam can make brain training with cognitive exercises much more effective. As a result, long-term improvements in performance can also be achieved independently of taking Oxiracetam. The drug is known to promote logical thinking and other skills that enable critical and analytical thinking.

Oxiracetam is also said to have a protective function on the neurons in the brain. It thus promotes health and makes the nerve cells more resistant to external influences. Oxiracetam can, for example, act as an antioxidant that protects the brain from toxins and poisons and thus develops its long-term protective effect.

Furthermore, there are data that indicate that oxiracetam can also heal cells damaged as a result of alcohol consumption, restore their function and prevent damage to other cells.

Safety

Like most other racetams, Oxiracetam has hardly any side effects. Even with a possible overdose, such side effects occur only in rare cases. It is very non-toxic and is generally considered safe. It can be taken daily without worrying about becoming addicted, as the intake can be stopped at any time and no negative effects or withdrawal symptoms are expected after discontinuation. Most side effects that have been reported are very mild. These include the typical side effects of racetams such as headaches, nausea, insomnia, nervousness, intestinal problems, and dizziness. These occur, with the exception of headaches, only with excessive overdoses and can be easily prevented. Headaches are usually, as mentioned above, caused by a choline deficiency and can be cured by a simple additional intake of choline. For the other side effects you should reduce the dosage and if it persists, possibly stop taking it for a few days.

Stacking

As it is a pure nootropic, Oxiracetam can be stacked with many other nootropics, especially Racetams, to achieve even more satisfying effects. The most commonly used additive is certainly choline, which has been mentioned here a few times. Oxiracetam can also work very well in combination with Piracetam and Aniracetam. It is not only cheaper but has additional effects on mood and brings other advantages.

Other types of stacks, such as the combination of oxiracetam with Pramiracetam and Noopept, can also be effective but should be consumed with caution. All of these supplements are very strong and should not be taken by a beginner in racetams and nootropics.

Oxiracetam is one of the more potent compounds in the racetams group and, unlike related compounds such as Piracetam and Aniracetam, has only cognitive performance-enhancing effects. It is very safe and easy to combine, but should not be taken in too high doses. Thanks to its strength, it is generally recommended for advanced users and especially when combined with other strong nootropics. For these people, however, taking it can be a real enrichment for their cognitive performance.
