Body Fortress Whey Protein Review
Today were going to be talking about Body Fortress whey protein.
I’m sure you’ve run into this whey protein at one point or another at your local big chain grocery store. I’ve personally walked past it a 100 times and only a few weeks ago did I stop to check it out and actually buy it. At first glance I always assumed that this whey protein was a cheap store brand with no serious regard to formulation but considering it was one of the lowest priced proteins I have ever seen and the fact I don’t like to judge a book by its cover.. it was well worth trying it out.
Ingredients and Price
One of the first things I do before buying any supplement is I check the ingredients. The ingredients usually give me a good idea on how effective the supplement itself will be. The ingredients in body fortress whey protein were the standard types of ingredients you see in whey. One thing I did not like when I was looking at the ingredients was the fact body fortress held back on the amino acids a bit. I personally felt it was under dosed on amino acids but I suppose I can’t complain because the product itself doesn’t cost much at all.
The real “selling point” of body fortress is the fact that it’s very cost efficient. On a good day you can pick up 2lbs for $13. With that being said the pricing is no doubt a 10/10.

Taste and Mixability
Personally, the taste and mixability of any supplement to me is very important. Considering I will be using the given supplement daily, it is crucial that I actually enjoy consuming the given supplement.
I always take my whey protein with water and in a cup that I stir with a spoon. As I was added the body fortress whey protein in a cup and started to stir I noticed some minor clumping going on. I don’t like seeing clumps of whey as that means I will need to fish out the clumps with my finger.
Once the whey was satisfyingly mixed in with the water, I decided to drink it and see how the taste it. I bought the vanilla flavor and I have to say I was surprised and it wound up tasting pretty good going down but after it went down, the after taste was pretty bad.
MIXABILITY: 6/10
TASTE: 6/10
Overall
While using body fortress whey I didn’t feel any different then I did with other whey proteins. My strength gains were as stable as any other whey and my recovery times were similar to my usual whey despite body fortress whey being a little under dosed with amino acids. With that said if your a person who doesn’t believe in all the marketing gimmicks/ingredients of other whey proteins or your just looking to save money and get something that works well.. This is the right whey protein for you. You may not get the best but you will get the best price.
OVERALL SCORE: 7/10

its really a solid whey protein
I love the price!
I am a 43 yr old man who started lifting a the y.m.c.a. 9 weeks ago.
I consume 30-40 grams of white meat protein a day and 52 grams of body fortress advanced whey per day. My workouts are more intense than most at the gym. 60 second rest periods between sets. less than two minutes between changing exercises. I don’t know if this is average or not, but i have gone from 185 max bench (1 clean time,no spotter) to 315 in 9 weeks. My body weight was 173, now 180. all I know is that the one week i didnt take the body fortress(out of 9) my body was sore for an extra day and my workouts were less intense.
are you using any other supplements? i.e. preworkout, nitric oxides, amino acids, etc. there are days I feel strong, but those days I feel weaker. i am going to add more protein to my supplements and meals.
I love this thing…i got the cookies and cream one, I like to mix it with fatfree milk…before I mix I heat the milk in the microwave then mix with spoon..i KID YOU NOT it taste like the best chocolate milk ever…its better tasting then dunkin donuts hot coco and rivials that of starbucks …for 15 bucks it can’t really be beat
I have been using BODY FORTRESS WHEY for about a year now. Tast great and great workouts with results with it. I take two scoops about an hour before workout and two scoops after and mix with either soy or regular milk. Good definition and tone and I am almost 60 years old but feel like 19! I also use GASPARI SUPERPUMP MAX fruit punch blast and this stuf works really well and tast just great.
I am 44 and work at a gym and I’ve been using BF Whey for months and must say I’ve found it to be just as good as the high dollar Whey proteins, BF is the Whey to use!!!
I have used this product for almost 3 years now. As a woman I know it may sound odd. But I am a distance runner and also do strength workouts 2-3x per week depending on my mileage and race schedule. I do 40-50 miles per week at peak. When doing any run over 15 or so I do 2 scoops. I found it really helps with my energy for the rest of my long run day. It also helps decrease muscle ache and fatigue the next day allowing back to back long runs on the weekend. I also use it for 2-3 consecutive days after a marathon or ultra. I have another ultra trail marathon in 2weeks and will most definitely have my shaker with 2 scoops waiting for water when I finish. I also do a scoop here and there when I haven’t gotten enough protein. I aim for 1g per pound I weigh so eating 115 grams some days is tough. And you can’t beat the price.
I started using this product about a year ago when I saw it in Walmart. I liked the Pro, Carb, Fat proportions. Having never used a protein supplement before, I was looking for something to mix in skim milk or yogurt for a fast meal with good protein amounts. I shake it up in a gatorade bottle with some choclate syrup.
I’m 49 and 175 lbs. I have got my bench up to 12 reps with 225. I don’t know if it is just because of the body fortress protein, but it certainly has not hurt.
I’m 42 and started doing P90X and Insanity about 6 months ago. I picked this up at Costco a few weeks back in order to take in some extra protein after workouts. I was a bit skeptical because it was cheap. I found it to be of good quality and tasty. I blend mine with low fat milk and a frozen banana. It’s really good. Try it.
I tried using Body Fortress for however long it took me to go through two jugs of it, every time I used it a felt like I was going to throw up. And occasionally I did throw up. There is something shady about this protein powder.
Every time I have tried to get into shape and work off some body fat, I wound up quitting because I was so sore all the time. At the suggestion at my brother I started to use Body Fortress.
Miraculously, when I have a shake (one scoop or two – depending on the severity of the workout), I’m not sore the following day. I’ve just started on my journey, so I don’t have anything to brag about yet, but I don’t see myself stopping any time soon.
I almost always have one scoop for breakfast as a meal replacement, then I usually have one scoop after working out. If I really tear it up, I’ll have two scoops.
Since I’m cheap, I haven’t been blessed with the opportunity to try some of these protein powders that must taste like ice cream. I hear complaints about the taste of body fortress. However, of the three flavors I’ve tried so far, there have been none I would consider throwing away. The only “off” flavors I get from this product is the same as I get from milk (sour aftertaste 5-10 mins later – easily avoided by having a glass of water afterwards). I don’t blame the product for that – I figure it’s the whey’s fault.
I mix it with water in a glass with a spoon. I usually have no problems with mixing, and if I do, i let it sit for a few minutes and stir it up a little more. That usually does the trick. I add double the water to try to get more water in my diet (I get tired of water). The chocolate, so far, is the best, followed by strawberry, then chocolate peanut butter. I’ve considered adding more BCAA to my multivitamin (also at brother’s suggestion), but have been having good results. Why make a good thing more complicated.
Also, there are some crystals that seem to sink to the bottom. I’ve heard them described as “sand.” I just swirl my glass and drink that, too. I think that is the “crystallized taurine.”
protein powders do help muscles recover faster but dont help as much with initial soreness due to workout. at least not as much as you say it helped you, but i could be wrong. age, genetics, and you level of fitness/health can also be factors. soreness isnt nessicarily a bad thing. soreness of muscles can mean you are training that muscle or group of muscles at a good intensity. If you are trying to increase muscle mass your workout needs to be at a level to where you can feel it in the muscle groups you trained most recently trained (usually this is felt the morning after and decreases throughout the day ). there is a difference between sorness and full blown pain. soreness should not inhibit your workouts or day to day activities and can usually be relieved by simple stretching. if you ever feel pain it could mean improper form, overtraining, overlifting (excess weight) or a pre-existing injury. *improper form is usually due to overlifting* if you dont feel a little soreness you either need to increase intensity or variations on working that muscle or muscle group. variations in excersises can help you with plateauing. As Arnold used to say “no pain, no gain”… this literally means if you cant feel some sorness in the muscle groups last trained in the next morning/day, then you havent trained hard enough…
My mother is 69 yrs old, her health isn’t good at all, she is protein diffishent, we started using this product to help with the problem, it works very well, well enough for her doctor to notice it helps her, mom is very picky about taste, no problems with bf for her, we blend 1 scoop with hershy syrup and lactose free milk, makes a really good shake.
For all those people that comlain about the mixability.. its not the protein… all whey protein clumps at the bottem if you mix it in a glass with a spoon. if you dont want to worrie about “fishing it out with your fingers…” idk why you would do that any way.. use a spoon. go buy a shaker, their in almost every drug store or groecry store(where ever you can buy muscle building supplements), i suggest rite aid or walmart, and vary in prices depending where you go. they’re anywhere from 6 to 9 dollars. they’re a plastic cup, perfect size for a dosage, and have a ball spring inside to help mix up the protein its legit and no clumps.
i use this everyday after a 2 hr work out at the gym i use 2 scoops of the strawberry with a banana and crushed ice i so love this and i eat 3 cup of home popped popcorn no salt no butter along with this and it fill,s me up and i feel better. im a 52 yr old go to the y 7 days a week am 60lbs over weight.i love the cost and love the whey protein
i forgot to say i use this with skim milk or 2% is ok
I’m pretty sure this shit is about 90% sand. It will not wix well no matter how well you shake the bottle. And also it the chocolate flavor tastes like absolute crap.
I bought this product a couple of weeks ago. At first i was pretty skeptical because of the price. After two weeks of intense weightlifting and P90x this product really helped with with my endurance. I like to mix mines with Vanilla Rice Milk, Raw Oats, and Flaxseed. This product really has a great taste. I tried Other products such as Syntha 6 and was very disappointed.
try to find other makes with 52G Whey Protien and see how much you pay, Body Fortress is a winner.
I blend Ice, water and two tbs orange juice concentrate with the Strawberry flavored Protein and it is just like a smoothie from Jamba Juice.
I began using the chocolate flavor mixed with unsweetened almond milk as a replacement meal for weight loss. 8 oz. almond milk, 1 scoop protein powder, a few ice cubes and a minute or so in the blender. Can’t beat it. And it’s way better than something like Slim Fast. I also add a scoop of natural peanut butter & 1/2 a banana some days and I think it’s pretty damn good. I feel like it helps maintain muscle mass during weight loss. Doesn’t taste half bad and the price is fantastic. Works well on low carb diets too.
Is it BGH free? Great price. Thanks
I like to make my whey protein shakes with vanilla whey prot powder, a T of ground flaxseed, soy protein powder, ice, a handfull of frozen raspberries, 2 T of Torani fat free, sugar free white chocolate syrup, and either powdered milk, nonfat milk or soy milk. If I use powdered milk I add a little water. Then I stick it in my blender. It’s so good. Also, if I’m using chocolate whey protein powder, I throw in half of a frozen banana, and strawberries.
Just bought a bottle. I have used all of gnc’s high power shakes and muscle milk and monster milk. Something is funny about this shake. All the high dollar shakes that have the same amount of protien are at least twice as thick as this stuff also they usually have twice the calories. I don’t believe the info on the labels. I mixed two scoops with 8 ounces of water which is supposed to be 53 gms of protien. It still tasted like water… Think Im gonna give it away and stick to the real shakes.
